How do I store my document waste ready for collection?

When it comes to sorting your documents for waste, you do not need to worry about sorting it into different categories.

We recommend using containers such as Refuse Bags, Bin Liners and Cardboard Boxes to store such documentation, however if you wish to keep all documents in a secure lockable state for your own piece of mind, Premier Shredding offers a secure Confidential Destruction Console.

We shred paper with any supporting components attached such as Paperclips, Ring Binders, lever arch folders and Treasury Tags.

What happens to my documents after it leaves my premises?

After your documents leave your premises, you will be issued with a Waste Transfer Note by one of our Shredding Operatives, confirming that your confidential documents are now in our hands and signed over to us. A Waste Transfer Note (WTN) is a document that details the transfer of waste from one person to another, with the assurance that a clear audit trail from when the waste is produced to when the waste is disposed of, is outlined within this document.

After your documents have been loaded onto our secure shredding vehicle, your documents are transferred to our local secure shredding facilities, which are locked at all times.

The vehicles are then backed into the unit, once arrived at the facility, and parked in front of the shredding machinery, whereby the operatives unload the bags and/or boxes into the conveyor belt that leads into the industrial shredding machine. After this, the sensitive documentation enters onto an additional conveyor belt which will lead into a Baler whereby all shredded documents are baled.

This ensures the documents are kept safely and securely, as well as being tidier for the surrounding environment. Once the final waste has been baled, the paper is then collected and transported to Tissue Processing Mills to be recycled into a pulp, ready for the production of Tissue, Newspaper and Handrolls.
